Becoming a Community Chaplain

The role of Community Chaplain is one that may fulfil your potential to have a real impact on the world around you. If you’re passionate about building connections and creating real change in people’s lives, particularly assisting them on their spiritual journey, this may be just the opportunity you’ve been looking for.

As a Community Chaplain, you’ll represent us, and be a potential link between the community and a local church. You’ll receive training from our experienced leaders, and we’ll provide you with logo apparel so you are visible as one of our people in the community.

You may simply sit and have a conversation with someone who is lonely or otherwise struggling – or you may put them in touch with other services or organisations that can serve their needs.

Our typical Community Chaplains are recently retired with a day or two free, but we welcome anyone to enquire who would like to do so. Speak to your church leaders if you’re interested in getting involved with our scheme or email info@communitychaplains.org.nz for application details.
